Newmarket's Brew Bus holds tour to aid family of late motorcyclist

All proceeds from the tour of four breweries on Sunday will go to the family of Javier Quiroz Hernandez, who was killed in a single-vehicle collision in Bradford July 27

Newmarket-based The Brew Bus, is hosting a tour in support of Bradford man Javier Quiroz Hernandez, who was killed in a motorcycle collision

Quiroz Hernandez lived above the Hacienda Santa Teresa restaurant in the downtown core, and could often be found socializing with staff and customers and helping out the owners when needed. 

Quiroz Hernandez and his father always loved to motorcycle back home in Mexico. He recently purchased a bike and loved spending his days off riding in the area. 

The bus tour is taking place this Sunday, Aug. 7. 

There are 17 seats available, at a $150 minimum donation. All proceeds will be going to Quiroz Hernandez's family. 

Participants will get one free beer at each location but are welcome to purchase more. There will also be shareable foods available at each brewery stop as well as some fun trivia games. 

The tour will include four stops at the following area breweries:

  • Quayle’s Brewery (Coldwater)
  • Redline Brewing (Barrie)
  • Flying Monkey (Barrie)
  • Couchiching Brewing (Orillia)

Guests are to meet at Hacienda Santa Teresa Restaurant for a complimentary lunch with the bus departing at noon, with a return time of around 6 to 7 p.m.

Tim Martini launched Newmarket-based Brew Bus in September, offering trips across York, Simcoe, Muskoka, Halton, Toronto, Peel, Durham and Kawartha. The bus takes patrons to breweries, cideries and wineries, giving them a chance to experience the variety of brews a region has to offer.
