Newmarket is bringing back its Haunted Halloween Trail event.

The Town of Newmarket is once again inviting you to take a walk full of frights and thrills at its second annual Haunted Halloween Trail event this month.

The town will be setting up a frightening path on the Dave Kerwin Trail, filled with Halloween decorations, lighting, sound effects and actors in costume.

“The perfect event for those aged 10 and up looking for a scary adventure,” the municipality said on its social media.

Last year’s first-time effort attracted more than 3,000 visitors, according to town officials. Council heaped praise onto the effort and indicated that staff should put it on again.

The event is recommended for those 10 and up, with those 12 and under needing to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The town has said it is planning another Halloween event for those younger than 10 “with just the right amount of scare.”

The haunted walk is free and will be done on a first-come, first-served basis. It will run for three nights, Oct. 27 to 29, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. You can line up at the entrance to the trail at the Environmental Park, 325 Woodspring Ave.

The town said you should expect a lineup, with nobody allowed to join the line after 9 p.m. Attendees are asked not to wear costumes or makeup and be respectful toward staff and event materials. No pets are permitted.

More information is available on the municipal website.
