The Town of Newmarket’s Library Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Tracy Munusami, as the Library’s new Chief Executive Officer, effective Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2021.

Munusami brings extensive experience in public libraries, including having spent the past four years as Manager of Service Excellence with the Oshawa Public Libraries. She has previous experience at Barrie Public Library and Innisfil Public Library, where she held a variety of positions from Manager of Adult and Community Services to Youth Services Librarian.

“The Newmarket Public Library Board is enthusiastic about the appointment of Tracy Munusami as the Library's new CEO,” said Library Board Chair Darcy McNeill. “Tracy’s strong leadership skills, commitment to delivering innovative technology, and strong ability to form community connections will help staff at the Newmarket Public Library to continue inspiring growth”.

During her time at Oshawa Public Library she assisted with breaking down systemic barriers through innovative policy and procedural initiatives as well as navigating her team and keeping them motivated through the COVID-19 pandemic.

Munusami is replacing Todd Kyle who departed Newmarket Public Library in January 2021 after 10 years in the role. The board also extended heartfelt thanks to Linda Peppiatt, retired Deputy CEO, who returned to support the Library during the search for a new CEO.
