Newmarket is celebrating two local heroes today who saved a family from their burning home last week.

Mayor John Taylor and Central York Fire Services Fire Chief Iain Laing will recognize Joshua Mazzotta and Rob Franceschinis for their heroic efforts early in the morning of April 26, when they leapt into action to alert the family of four of the fire and use a ladder to help them escape from the second floor of their Warby Trail house.

You can join the Facebook Live commendation ceremony today, May 5, at 5 p.m. here.

Residents who require an alternative way to view or listen can email corporatecommunications@newmarket.ca by 1 p.m. today.
