The Newmarket Home and Lifestyle Show is coming to the Ray Twinney complex April 1 and 2.

The Newmarket Home and Lifestyle show returns for the first weekend in April, hosted by the Newmarket Chamber of Commerce.

In its 27th year, the home show is the biggest of its kind in York Region.

"It's always been one of the biggest events the chamber has hosted," said president Chris Emanuel.

The show brings together landscapers, renovators, contractors, and anyone who does work around the home, as well as furniture, decor, and other marketplace vendors.

The show is on April 1 and 2 at the Ray Twinney Recreation Complex on Eagle Street.

"We always plan it for early spring because that's when people start thinking spring cleaning and renovations, things like that," Emanuel said.

All the businesses participating are from the Newmarket area and he said it's an opportunity for the community to see the breadth of what's available.

As president and CEO of the chamber, Emanuel said seeing all the businesses out there and working away is one of his favourite parts of the home and lifestyle show, but his other favourite part is seeing the trends.

"Sometimes I rely on my fiance to tell me what's trendy in home and lifestyle, things like that, but I get to see it firsthand from decorators, designers, landscapers, and see what's coming. So you get the real first sneak peek at the trends of the season," he said.

The event has something for everyone, including a kids zone, food stations and a craft beer bar that is a new addition this year from the Newmarket Community Craft Beer Festival.

Admission to the show is free and it runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.
