New vaccine clinic opening in Newmarket days ahead of Ray Twinney clinic closure

The clinic will be by appointment only, no walk-ins accepted

Bookings are now available for a new COVID-19 vaccine clinic coming to Newmarket Monday, Aug. 23. 

The clinic will be held in the Great Hall of the York Region Administrative Centre at 17250 Yonge St. in Newmarket. 

Walk-ins will not be accepted and appointments are required for both first and second doses at this clinic. 

Appointments are currently available between Aug. 23 to 30 and can be booked through the region’s online system

This clinic opens just three days before Newmarket’s mass immunization centre the Ray Twinney Recreation Complex is slated to close Aug. 26. 

Both Moderna and Pfizer will be administered at the new location. 

Now, anyone who is turning 12 this year is able to receive a dose in York Region. 

As of Aug. 19, 869,500 York Region residents have received at least one dose, which is 86.2 per cent of eligible residents aged 12 and up. 

There are also 804,507 residents who are fully vaccinated, representing 76.4 per cent of the eligible population.
