New mobility on request service coming to Newmarket

Among the York Region Transit service changes this fall is a new mobility on request service in Newmarket.

Mobility On-Request (MOR) Newmarket will replace MOR Bristol and MOR Gorham-Eagle, according to a news release.

All the changes, which YRT said are made to meet changing customer demand, take effect Sunday, Sept. 4.

An expanded service area for MOR East Gwillimbury GO will also be provided.

Other service changes effective Sept. 4 are:

  • Routes 1, 2, 9, 14, 16, 18, 25, 522, Viva purple/purple A and Mobility On-Request (MOR) for the opening of the Cornell Bus Terminal  
  • Routes 720 and 760 weekend service will be adjusted to match hours of operation for Canada’s Wonderland and Vaughan Mills
  • Schedule adjustments to improve school bell time connections and meet student demand. 

Cornell Bus Terminal is opening Sept. 4 just south of Markham Stouffville Hospital near Highway 7 and Ninth Line. The new terminal includes 11 bus bays, heated waiting areas, bike racks, washrooms, space for future retail and more. For more information: yrt.ca/Cornell
