York Regional Police are investigating a fatal collision.

UPDATE, April 2, 9:30 a.m.: The 20-year-old male rider of a motorcycle was pronounced dead on scene of a collision with a sport utility vehicle in the area of Jane Street and 17th Sideroad April 1 at approximately 1:15 p.m., York Regional Police said in a news release.

The driver of the SUV was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

York Regional Police are investigating a fatal collision near Highway 400 that occurred Monday afternoon in King.

Police were called to the scene of a collision between a vehicle and motorcycle on 17th Sideroad and King Hills Lane that left one man deceased, police said at about 2:30 p.m. April 1.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area as Jane and Keele streets in the area are closed for the investigation.

Witnesses are asked to contact police at 1-866-876-5423.
