UPDATE: 20-year-old motorcyclist killed in collision in King

UPDATE, April 2, 9:30 a.m.: The 20-year-old male rider of a motorcycle was pronounced dead on scene of a collision with a sport utility vehicle in the area of Jane Street and 17^th Sideroad April 1 at approximately 1:15 p.m., York Regional Police said in a news release.

The driver of the SUV was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

Investigators are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police, and to anyone who may have dashcam footage of the area around the time of the collision, to contact investigators at 1-866-876-5423, ext. 7704, or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or at www.1800222tips.com.

York Regional Police are investigating a fatal collision near Highway 400 that occurred Monday afternoon in King.

Police were called to the scene of a collision between a vehicle and motorcycle on 17th Sideroad and King Hills Lane that left one man deceased, police said at about 2:30 p.m. April 1.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area as Jane and Keele streets in the area are closed for the investigation.

Witnesses are asked to contact police at 1-866-876-5423.
