Jazz sensation Drew Jurecka coming to Newmarket

Visual and Performing Arts Newmarket hosts the Grammy-nominated violinist and producer May 7 at NewRoads Performing Arts Centre

Drew Jurecka, a Grammy-nominated violinist and producer from Toronto, is taking the stage at NewRoads Performing Arts Centre to perform for Visual and Performing Arts Newmarket on May 7 at 2 p.m.

Jurecka has recorded various albums for artists, including Alessia Cara, Chantal Kreviazuk, Jesse Cook and Buffy Sainte-Marie. He has also composed for film and television, and his orchestral arrangements have been performed by the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and the National Arts Centre Orchestra.

"Classically trained but comfortable in all genres, he appears with his jazz trio to set our concert stage alight with infectious rhythms," reads the release issued by Visual and Performing Arts Newmarket.

Drew Jurecka performs with award-winning pianist Adrean Farrugia and bassist Clark Johnston.
