York Region charities and non-profit and community organizations interested in learning more about the requirements of applying for Magna Hoedown funding are invited to sign up for a Feb. 20 information session.

"This is a fantastic opportunity for newcomer applicants and veterans to learn about the application process, the expectations of selected Hoedown recipients, and how to submit an application in a collaborative partnership with another charity," Neighbourhood Network manager Erin Cerenzia said in news release.

The 31st Magna Wild Wild West Hoedown will be held Friday, Sept. 13 and Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019.

The Hoedown raises about $500,000 annually for 20 non-profit organizations serving Newmarket, Aurora, Georgina and York Region.

In total, more than $12 million has been raised over 30 years, making the Magna Hoedown Canada's largest fundraiser.

Pre-registration at [email protected] is required for the Hoedown application information sessions, as space is limited.

Several sessions are offered on Wednesday, Feb. 20: 10 to 10:30 a.m., 10:30 to 11 a.m., noon to 12 p.m., 12:30 to 1 p.m., and 1 to 1:30 p.m.

The charity applications for the 2019 Hoedown will be available online following the information sessions.

The sessions take place at Neighbourhood Network, 14988 Yonge St., Aurora.
