Inn From the Cold will be hitting the streets in February for the Coldest Night of the Year and is encouraging Newmarket residents to join in.

The annual fundraising walk will be in the evening on Feb. 25, 2023. There are events all over the country with tens of thousands of participants but the Newmarket one will be starting and ending at Riverwalk Commons.

There are two and five kilometre options with rest stops along the way to warm up with hot beverages.

This the the 11th year that Inn From the Cold is participating in the fundraiser. This year, its goal is to raise $80,000 to help people experiencing hunger, hurt, and homelessness in Newmarket. The money raised is especially helpful was February is a time of year historically known for low donation levels.

Staff and friends of Inn From the Cold will be walking among an expected 250 walkers and 50 teams. Newmarket residents are also encouraged to participate in the fundraiser.

It is a family-friendly event and you can register online. Anyone who raises over $150 ($75 for youth) will receive a signature Coldest Night of the Year toque to keep them warm during and commemorate the walk.

Sponsors of Inn From the Cold's event include Magna International, Capital Power, and Bingo World.
