Highway 11 closed near Powassan (UPDATED)

511 Ontario is reporting a collision on Highway 11 North near Powassan that has caused the highway to be closed in both directions. 

The accident occurred around 10 a.m. Sunday morning. 

Sources say the accident involved a vehicle hitting a rock cut. Motorists have been able to detour around the accident by going through Powassan. 

OPP say the collision occurred in the northbound lanes of Highway 11 between Main Street and Golf Course Road in the Municipality of Powassan. 

The OPP is looking for help about details surrounding the incident. 

"Police are continuing to investigate and any person(s) with information or may have seen any vehicle debris on the highway, should contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122," the OPP said in a release Sunday afternoon. 

"Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or submit information online at www.tipsubmit.com where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000."
