Magna International's Neighbourhood Network to award 20 graduating high school students who have made significant contributions to their communities

Hey, local high school students!

If you will graduate this year and can demonstrate your outstanding community involvement, now is the time to apply for the Neighbourhood Network’s Give Back awards. 

The not-for-profit division of Magna International Inc. that facilitates volunteerism in the communities of Newmarket, Aurora, East Gwillimbury, Georgina, and King Township and that also funds the annual awards, will select the top 20 high school students and present them each with a $1,000 cash prize at a ceremony to be held at Magna’s head office during national volunteer week in early April.

The Give Back awards are now open and submissions will be accepted until 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 21.

Eligibility requirements include:

  • A student who has demonstrated significant initiative and generosity to their community and fellow citizens
  • A student graduating from a high school in Newmarket, Aurora, Georgina, East Gwillimbury, or King Township
  • Must be able to attend the Give Back awards reception at the Magna International head office in Aurora, date to be determined
  • All nominations must include a letter of endorsement by a sponsor. The sponsor must be able to confirm the applicant’s community involvement and initiatives, and may not be a family member
  • The Give Back awards are for individuals. Applications for a group are not permitted
  • May not be a past recipient of the Give Back awards
