Christmas Day and Boxing Day are statutory holidays. We wish you a Merry Christmas, happy holidays, and peace and joy to all!

Christmas Eve

What's open:

Malls and shopping centres in the region will close early, including Upper Canada Mall (9 a.m. to 6 p.m.), Vaughan Mills (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.), Tanger Outlets (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.), and Hillcrest Mall (9 a.m. to 6 p.m.). 

Pharmacies, including Shoppers Drug Mart at Yonge and Savage (8 a.m. to 10 p.m.), Yonge and Davis (9 a.m. to 8 p.m.), and 404 Town Centre (8 a.m. to midnight).

LCBO stores close at 6 p.m. Beer Stores are open with varying hours, you can search for the closest locations online. Select stores open early at 9 a.m. and all stores close at 6 p.m.

Grocery stores, check online first, as some close at 6 p.m.

GO Transit will be running regular service. 

York Region Transit will be running regular service.

Newmarket municipal offices (8:30 a.m. to noon), Magna Centre (8:30 a.m. to noon).

Christmas Day

What’s open:

Some pharmacies, including Shoppers Drug Mart at Yonge and Savage (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.), Yonge and Davis (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.), and 404 Town Centre (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.).

GO Transit will be running on a Sunday schedule, they will also run a Saturday schedule on Dec. 27 to observe Christmas Day. 

York Region Transit will be running Sunday/Holiday service.

What’s closed:

Most businesses, retail stores, including malls, grocery stores, and banks.

Government services will be closed, including Canada Post, with no collection or delivery of mail.

All Town of Newmarket facilities, including the Magna fitness centre. Click here for more details.

Boxing Day

What’s Open:

Malls and shopping centres, including Upper Canada Mall (8 a.m. to 8 p.m.), Vaughan Mills (8 a.m. to 9 p.m.), Tanger Outlets (8 a.m. to 8 p.m.),  and Hillcrest Mall (8 a.m. to 8 p.m.).

Pharmacies, including Shoppers Drug Mart at Yonge and Savage (9 a.m. to 10 p.m.), Yonge and Davis (9 a.m. to 8 p.m.), and 404 Town Centre (8 a.m. to 8 p.m.).

Select LCBO stores operate on reduced hours, you can check the store locator for hours at your local LCBO. 

Beer Stores are open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

York Region Transit will be running Saturday service. 

What’s closed:

Most banks and government buildings, including all Town of Newmarket facilities.

Government services will be closed, including Canada Post, with no collection or delivery of mail.
