CHATS - Community and Home Assistance to Seniors is excited to announce we will be hosting our 6th annual Tim Jones’ Charity Golf Classic on Monday, Sept. 9 at Silver Lakes Golf and Country Club, one of York Region's finest courses, located in East Gwillimbury.

As the largest not-for-profit in the region, and one of the only providers offering a full spectrum of in-home and community services to over 8,500 older adults and caregivers, CHATS is making it easier for this growing demographic to access and coordinate the support needed to remain living safely, with independence and dignity in their homes, out of hospitals and long-term care.

“Our client base has increased 2 per cent annually over the last six years, but government funding has not kept pace with the growth in need and demand for our services,” says Christina Bisanz, CEO of CHATS.

“In addition, the people we serve are frailer with more complex care needs. CHATS, like many not-for-profits, relies on fundraising events such as this to ensure our health and wellness services continue to be accessible and affordable to the growing number of older adults in the many communities we serve,” she added.

As one of CHATS’ signature fundraising events, we are looking for the community’s support to help us meet our fundraising goal of $40,000. Funds raised through this tournament will directly benefit CHATS programs and services such as personal care, housekeeping, transportation, hoarding support/ counselling, meals on wheels, adult day programs and much more.

There is still room to register yourself or a foursome for only $125 per player! On the day of the event, registration opens at 7 a.m., where players will enjoy putting green and driving practice, a continental breakfast to start the day before teeing off at 8 a.m. to play 18 holes of golf packed with lots of great prizes to be won, on course food and beverages provided by Aurora’s own Food In Motion and Hockley Valley Brewery followed by a barbecue lunch and a spectacular auction to cap it off.

If you would like to support this event through one the available sponsorship opportunities, make a prize donation to our silent auction, or would like information on registering a foursome at the CHATS Golf Tournament, please contact CHATS Fund Development Team at [email protected] or by calling 905-713-3373 ext. 6093. Together, we can make a difference in a senior’s life.
