When a 28-year-old mother from Aurora saw the royal flush on the screen after she purchased a Poker Lotto ticket while shopping at a local convenience store, she never imagined she had won "the big" prize.

Athelma O’Brien-Needham, who is celebrating a win of nearly $65,000, said, “I was watching the screen and saw the royal flush. I thought it was going to be a big one, but I didn’t think it would be the big one!”

She won the Poker Lotto All In jackpot worth $59,904.60 on March 27, and also won $5,000 on the instant portion of her Poker Lotto play, according to an OLG news release.

“I was in shock – I just wanted to run home with my golden ticket,” she added.

Athelma said when her fiancé got home, she showed him the ticket. “It turned his bad day around completely.”

She plans to invest, possibly take a vacation and buy a hot tub. “I’ll take time to think it over before making any big decisions. I feel very fortunate,” she added.

Poker Lotto players can opt for All In for an additional $1 to take a chance on instantly winning a jackpot that starts at $10,000 and grows until it is won. Visit the Poker Lotto page on OLG.ca for more information about All In.

The winning ticket was purchased at Circle K on Wellington Street in Aurora.
