Giving back at food cart supports 3 good causes

310-COPE, Armitage Village Public School and the Terry Fox Foundation benefit from the generosity of food cart owner Andrew Summers and his customers

Getting "the works" at the Streetmeat Bistro means supporting great local causes.

Andrew Summers, owner of the food cart whose home is in front of Chapters on Yonge Street most weekends, passed along $3,410 raised by himself and hundreds of generous customers to several charities yesterday.

An amount of $1,136 each went to the 310-COPE mental health crisis program, Armitage Village Public School and the Terry Fox Foundation.

This fundraiser was in honour of Michael Norton, a Newmarket resident who lost his battle with cancer, and who, like Summers, donated much of his time and money to those in need in the community.
