Former Southlake VP named interim CEO at Alliston hospital

Barbara Steed, who was vice-president of Regional Cancer Program at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket, starts new role at Stevenson Memorial Hospital

Barbara Steed has been named interim president and chief executive officer at Stevenson Memorial Hospital in Alliston.

A former Southlake Regional Health Centre vice-president has been appointed interim president and CEO at Stevenson Memorial Hospital in Alliston.

"Barbara Steed is an experienced health-care leader, having held roles such as executive vice-president, patient services and chief practice officer at Oak Valley Health, and executive vice-president, clinical services and vice-president of the Regional Cancer Program at Southlake Regional Health Centre," a hospital news release said.

Some of her accomplishments include: system-level leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic at the provincial and regional levels; strategic and clinical lead in the first Kids Health Alliance partnership with the Hospital for Sick Children; and redevelopment of the vision and operational plan for all hospital clinical programs.

“On behalf of the board of directors, we are looking forward to having Barbara join the organization as a member of the senior leadership team, providing her expertise and leadership skills that will guide us into the future,” says Norm Depta, chair, board of directors, Stevenson Memorial Hospital.
 
Steed will start her role effective May 21, 2024.
