Crews have been busy today in downtown Newmarket raising Canadian flags in a move to boost morale.
“Canadian flags have been installed to lift community spirits and for all to enjoy,” said a Town of Newmarket post on Twitter.
They said the national banners, which are grouped on Main Street lamps, also celebrate National Public Works Week, which runs from May 16 to 22.
The patriotic pop of colour is the town’s first move to mark the annual celebration of our country, though Canada Day plans for 2021 have not yet been revealed.
