First Light returns to Sainte-Marie among the Hurons later this month.

Considered a must-see holiday event, the 22nd edition features a great lineup of family activities and live musical performances, all amidst the spectacular glow of thousands of candles.

“Come and experience some holiday magic!” the historic site noted on its website for the event that runs Nov. 24 to 26 and Dec. 1 to 3.

Guests can look forward to live music  including Ruth Sutherland playing the harp in the church of Saint-Joseph, Chris Walser hand-drumming in the longhouse and Doug Feaver performing in the chapel.

Family-friendly fun will allow guests to enjoy seasonal card writing, candle making demonstrations, legends in the longhouse and more.

There will also be 50 talented artisans and vendors on hand along with food options.

On Saturday evenings, the Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre will have a birds of prey presentation while every night will feature outdoor blacksmith demonstrations as well as musket and mortar firing.

And on Thursday at 7 p.m., a fireworks display will light up the night sky.

Reservations are required again this year. Guests must book one of the following time-slots: 5:30 p.m., 6 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 7 p.m. or 7:30 p.m.

Attendees are also asked to bring a non-perishable food donation for the local food bank.

Cost is $10 per person (tax included) with kids five and under admitted free.

A complimentary shuttle bus will run between Sainte-Marie and Walmart in Midland.
