At about 8:10 p.m. on July 24, Newmarket-Tay Power said on Twitter "we are experiencing multiple power outages in the Newmarket area due to the weather."
In a local Facebook group, Newmarket residents shared whether or not power was out in their area. The affected areas, according to the comments, include the Fairy Lake area, Eagle Street by Lorne Avenue and Yonge Street, and Quaker Hill by Sandford Street and William Roe Boulevard.
There are 373 customers affected by the outage in the William Roe area, according to Newmarket-Tay Power's online outage dashboard.
In another tweet at 9:07 p.m. it said crews are on the scene of the outage.

The power company has not yet provided an estimated time of restoration.
