A driver who ran from the scene of a collision with a tree this morning was arrested a short distance away, York Regional Police reported on social media at 8:46 a.m.
The single-vehicle collision happened at Bathurst Street and Shaftsbury Avenue in Richmond Hill, York Police said.
The force had warned the public about 8:30 a.m. to expect a police presence in the area as it searched for the driver.
The investigation is ongoing.
