The Lotto Max odds have shone in favour for a group of nine from Simcoe and York Region. They had the winning ticket for a Maxmillions prize worth $1 million from the June 22, 2021, Lotto Max draw. They also won $40 on their other Lotto Max selections, bringing their total winnings to $1,000,040!
The group members are:

Shaun, the group leader, says the group plays the lottery together every week. "My neighbour, who is one of the group members, came knocking on my door screaming that we had winning numbers," he recalled while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his portion of the win. "I couldn't believe it. I was in shock! I had to sit down for a minute to process."
"I called all the group members to share the good news," Shaun smiled. "I also told my immediate family, and they are happy and excited for me."
Shaun plans to invest and purchase a home with his share of the win. "I will also save some for my son's education and maybe plan a trip when things settle down," he said.
"I never expected to win. The timing is perfect with everything going on in the world right now. It's good to have a little extra support," Shaun concluded.
OLG is booking in-person prize claim appointments at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto. As there are limited appointments, we strongly encourage those witch claims between $1,000 and $49,999.90 to submit their claims online or mail them. Submitting claims online is fast, secure and enables OLG to process the claim in a timely manner. Customers with prizes over $50,000 are asked to call 1-800-387-0098 to discuss available prize claim options.
Lotto Max players in Ontario have won over $6.7 billion since 2009, including 89 jackpot wins and 721 Maxmillions prizes, right across the province. Lotto Max is $5 per play and draws take place on Tuesdays and Fridays.
The winning ticket was purchased at Petro Canada on Mulock Street in Newmarket.
