105 high-risk contacts linked to Vaughan restaurant employees with COVID-19

'York Region Public Health continues to have difficulty identifying high-risk contacts due to incomplete contact information, resulting in the need for a public notice,' spokesperson says

At least 105 contacts are at high risk of exposure due to close contact with employees with COVID-19 at Avenue Cibi e Vini in Vaughan.

York Region Public Health released a public notice today advising patrons who were at the restaurant at 10519 Islington Ave. from March 30 to April 1 to self isolate for 14 days and closely monitor for signs and symptoms and get tested if symptoms develop, according to York Region spokesperson Patrick Casey.

"Public health has identified approximately 105 high-risk contacts who may have come into contact with staff cases," Casey said. "York Region Public Health continues to have difficulty identifying high-risk contacts due to incomplete contact information, resulting in the need for a public notice."

The restaurant closed at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 1, he added.

York Region Public Health continues to investigate this situation.
