Old Yonge Street in Holland Landing is a village core that has seen better days. The area is characterized by rundown homes, vacant buildings, and a narrow street. It's a stark contrast to what it used to be, bustling with activity and commerce. East Gwillimbury council should have bold plans to revitalize the area and restore its former glory.

Holland Landing is a community with a rich history dating back to the 19th century. Old Yonge Street has always been an essential part of the village, playing a crucial role in the area's development. However, the once-thriving street has become a shadow of its former self, with many homes in a state of disrepair and buildings left abandoned.

One of the most significant issues with the Old Yonge Street is the rundown homes. The council needs to focus on renovating these homes or tearing them down and rebuilding them. The state of these properties not only detracts from the esthetic appeal of the area, but it also poses potential health and safety risks to the community.

Vacant buildings on the street are another concern. They not only contribute to the area's rundown appearance, but they also attract crime and other undesirable activities. The council should incentivize property owners to renovate and repurpose these buildings, creating new businesses and residences to bring life back to the area.

The narrow street is also a significant problem. The current layout makes it difficult for pedestrians and cyclists to navigate, posing a potential hazard to those who use it regularly. The council should consider widening the street to create a more accessible and safe environment for all.

Revitalizing the Old Yonge Street should be a priority for East Gwillimbury council. The area has enormous potential to become a vibrant and thriving part of the community once again. The council should consider creating new businesses, promoting tourism, and improving the overall quality of life for those who live and work in the area.

In conclusion, Old Yonge Street in Holland Landing is in a miserable condition, but the local council should have bold plans to change that. Revitalizing the area by renovating and rebuilding homes, repurposing vacant buildings, and widening the street will restore its former glory. The council should seize the opportunity to make changes that will transform Old Yonge into a vibrant and bustling centre of activity and commerce once again.
