Visual and Performing Arts Newmarket (VPAN) is cancelling this year's concert season as a result of ongoing restrictions aimed at halting the spread of COVID-19.

The cancellations include the popular Three for the Show series and the Young Artists Showcase for 2020-2021.

"We do not take this decision lightly, but feel it is in the best interests of all," the board announced. "Because of COVID-19, VPAN has had to realize that the uncertainty the pandemic has created regarding the opening of theatres, the gathering of more than 50 people, and the possibility of a second wave of the virus has created a serious problem for us."

The board thanked all it supporters, especially its subscribers, for their continued support over the years, with promises to be in touch next spring regarding the 2021-2022 season.
