NEWS RELEASE
ONTARIO SPCA
*************************
In support of efforts to control the spread of COVID-19, Ontario SPCA animal centres are temporarily closed to the public and adoptions have been put on hold. The health, safety and well-being of visitors, staff, volunteers and animals remains the Society’s top priority.

Even though the Ontario SPCA Provincial Education & Animal Centre is temporarily closed, dedicated staff continue to provide the same high level of care to the animals at the centre. Every animal receives an individual care plan, which includes enrichment activities to keep them happy, healthy and socialized.

The Ontario SPCA also continues to serve as a resource to the community to keep animals safe. The Society’s 310-SPCA (7722) hotline is operational and dispatchers continue to be available during business hours to assist the public, municipalities, police and public health when animals need care. If you are in need of urgent or essential services, call 310-SPCA during regular business hours.

With schools closed during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ontario SPCA also is sharing educational resources and activities for parents to keep their children busy and entertained. AnimalSmart is an educational series for Grades 1-3, which meets Ontario curriculum and can be downloaded for free at animalsmart.ca

You can also find fun activities on the Provincial Education & Animal Centre’s social media channels. For fun DIY projects for you and your pets, including how to make toys for cats and dogs, adorable photos and videos of animals to brighten your day, and a behind-the-scenes look at how our furry friends at the centre are being entertained, follow @ospcapeac on Facebook and Instagram.
