NEWS RELEASE
THE TOWN OF NEWMARKET
*************************
While families, classes, teams and communities across Canada find new ways to mark milestones, the Town of Newmarket has created and curated opportunities for residents to rally together to celebrate Canada Day – or Kanata Day as the locals call it.

“2020 has been a year to show us what we’re made of,” reflects Newmarket Mayor John Taylor. “At the core, being Canadian is about care, compassion, community and resiliency and while we may be celebrating Canada Day differently, I’ve never been more proud to say I’m Canadian and more importantly, proud of our Newmarket community for demonstrating our core Canadian values in the most challenging of times. This Canada Day, let’s continue to rise up, to stand apart together and take a moment to pause, reflect and celebrate our great community and nation.”

Even though residents can’t gather for the usual Kanata Day Festival, they can still show their Canadian spirit from home.
