Additional COVID-19 cases confirmed in Markham, Richmond Hill

Three new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed, bumping York Region's tally to 27 cases as of March 19

Three additional cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed, in Markham and Richmond Hill, bumping York Region's total number of cases to 27 as of March 19.

Two travel-related cases in Markham, a man aged in his 20s and a woman aged in her 60s, are in self-isolation.

The cause of transmission for the third confirmed case, a woman aged in her 20s in Richmond Hill, is under investigation.

Of the 27 cases in York Region, nine cases are in Vaughan, seven in Richmond Hill, seven in Markham, two in Newmarket, one in East Gwillimbury and one in Aurora.

A man in his 50s in Halton is the second person in Ontario to die of COVID-19.  The total confirmed cases reported on the province's dedicated website is 258 for March 19.
