3 additional COVID-19 cases in York Region (UPDATE)

UPDATE: March 15, 7 p.m.: York Region public health has provided additional details regarding the two additional COVID-19 cases confirmed earlier today.

The 11th confirmed case in the region is a woman in her 70s in Vaughan. The 12th confirmed case is a woman in her 40s in Markham.

Both cases are travel related, and both individuals are in self-isolation.

The number of confirmed cases in Ontario has jumped from 103 to 142 as of this morning, with three additional cases in York Region, according to the province's dedicated website.

York Region public health is currently only reporting one additional confirmed case, the 10th, as a woman in her 60s in Vaughan. It is a travel-related case.

All of the individuals are in self-isolation.

The additional 39 cases confirmed as of 11:30 a.m. March 15 are in York, Simcoe-Muskoka, Peel, Toronto, Durham, Ottawa, Hamilton, Niagara, Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge, and Waterloo.

More than 7,000 individuals have tested negative for coronavirus, with 1,316 awaiting results currently. Five of the cases have been resolved.
