Wroute Inc. has stopped making trips round trips from Kitchener to Guelph.
The company, which had a fleet of ten Tesla Model X 100D vehicles, announced via social media on Friday that it had suspended operations as of Thursday.
"Market conditions proved insufficient to support the operation," said the statement.
In February, the company laid off seven drivers and also reduced service hours.
At that time, the owner of Wroute told us they expected there to be a lot more passenger activity than there was.
The service, which launched in September 2018, made daily trips between Fairview Park Mall and Guelph's Central Station.
So much gratitude! We've loved working with our amazing team of staff. Special thanks to all of our excited and valued passengers. There are so many innovators carrying our vision of sustainable transportation forward, we can't wait to see what comes next! pic.twitter.com/xyFnBtwRkm
