ADOPT ME: 'Mitten-wearing' Carmel is quiet lap cat

The five-year-old feline is polydactyly, meaning she has an extra digit on her front paws, making it look like she is wearing mittens

NewmarketToday, in partnership with the Ontario SPCA Provincial Education & Animal Centre, brings you a regular feature highlighting special pets in need of adoption.

A kitten with mittens!

Carmel is a five-year-old cat at the York Region Ontario SPCA Animal Centre searching for her fur-ever home. She is a very special cat because she is polydactyl. This means that she has an extra digit on both her front paws making it look like she is wearing mittens.

Carmel is a very sweet and quiet lap cat. She can be initially shy but once she warms up she will flop over for belly rubs while purring.
