A 47-year-old Toronto man has been charged in connection to an alleged sexual assault of a teenage student in York Region, police say.
Police said they were contacted by a teenage student who reported they had been sexually assaulted by a teacher on June 5.
The accused has worked as a high school teacher for 22 years and five years with the York Catholic District School Board.
Tony Paniccia, 47, of Toronto, has been charged with three counts of sexual assault, three counts of sexual exploitation, and one count of luring a child.
Investigators urge anyone with information regarding this or other incidents to come forward.
