A woman who was taken to hospital after a head-on collision on Bathurst Street this morning has suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to an injury report confirmed by York Regional Police Const. Andy Pattenden.

Bathurst Street, just south of Davis Drive, has been reopened.

A York police investigation is ongoing.

Original story:

A woman is in hospital with serious injuries and another was transported to hospital with minor injuries as a result of head-on vehicle collision on Bathurst Street, south of Davis Drive in Newmarket this morning, York Regional Police Const. Andy Pattenden said.

The accident on Bathurst Street, between Sykes Road and Keith Avenue at 8:40 a.m., prompted a road closure during the morning rush hour.

“At this point in time, the road is still closed as we’re awaiting an update on injuries from the hospital,” Const. Pattenden said.

Drivers are advised to find an alternate route through that stretch of Bathurst.
