Whitchurch-Stouffville man arrested after rocks thrown through windows at 2 houses

Investigators with the York Regional Police #5 District Criminal Investigations Bureau have charged a 28-year-old man in connection with a number of property damage incidents in the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville.

The first incident occurred on Sunday April 18, 2021, when a suspect attended a residence on Baker Street and threw a large rock through a window. The window was smashed and damage was done to the floor inside the house.

On Saturday, April 24, 2021, officers responded to the same residence for a report of a suspicious person on the property with a flashlight. The suspect fled prior to police arrival.

On April 26, 2021, officers responded to a different address on Baker Street after a caller reported being woken up after a large rock was thrown through a window in the home.

Through the investigation, officers reviewed video surveillance and set up observations in the area.

On May 1, 2021, at approximately 4 a.m., officers located the suspect on Baker Street in front of one of the houses that had been damaged. He was arrested and is now facing charges.

Charged: 

  • Eric Valleau, 28, of Whitchurch-Stouffville

Charges: 

  • Mischief under $5,000 x2
  • Trespass to property at night
