Charges are pending following incident Monday at Highway 89, says OPP sergeant

At about 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 3, a wheel separated from a Chevrolet Sonic travelling southbound on Highway 400 at Highway 89 in Innisfil, bounced into the northbound lanes and hit a Toyota Tacoma.

The three occupants of the Tacoma were taken to hospital. However, there were no serious injuries and all three occupants have since been released.

According to OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt, charges may be pending against the driver of the Sonic.

“I have not yet heard whether those charges have been laid at this point or what those charges may be,” he said.
