Proactive police patrols led to two men being charged with drug trafficking offences in the City of Vaughan.

On Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019 shortly before 11 p.m., an officer with the #4 District Community Oriented Response Unit was patrolling an area around Steeles Avenue West and Bathurst Street following community complaints of alcohol consumption and drug use in parking lots. The officer located two occupied vehicles parked beside each other in an alley way. The officer approached the vehicles and could smell a strong odour of cannabis.

As the investigation continued, the males surrendered cannabis that they had in their possession. The officer also located nearly one kilogram of cannabis, hashish and oxycodone pills.
