UPDATE: Missing vulnerable Georgina man found deceased

Toronto police confirmed the 37-year-old's identity and that his death is not considered suspicious

UPDATE, Aug. 8: York Regional Police report a missing 37-year-old vulnerable man from Georgina has been sadly located deceased in the Toronto.

Investigators in the #3 CIB Criminal Investigations Bureau have been advised by the Toronto Police Service that the identity of Matthew Hartsgrove was confirmed and his death is not considered suspicious.

Investigators with the York Regional Police #3 District Criminal Investigations Bureau are seeking public assistance in locating a missing 37-year-old vulnerable man from the Town of Georgina. 

Matt Hartsgrove was reported missing on Aug. 1, 2022, at approximately 11:30 p.m. His last known location was in the area of Dalton Road and Woodriver Bend. Police have not been able to locate him and are concerned for his safety.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact police.

Description:

  • Male, white, 37 years
  • 5’8”, thin build, 170 lbs.
  • Salt-and-pepper hair
  • Brush cut, full beard
  • Tattoos on his chest and back
