Video surveillance shows apparent abduction victim being dragged by her hair

Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Crimes Bureau are seeking public assistance to identify a suspect and any information related to an apparent abduction in the Town of Richmond Hill.

On Thursday, Aug. 23, 2018, at 2:50 a.m., a female victim rang a doorbell at a residence located in the area of High Tech Road and Silver Linden Drive. The door was not answered, but video surveillance shows an unknown male suspect, armed with what appears to be a handgun, exiting a vehicle parked out front on the roadway. The suspect had an altercation with the victim on the front porch of the residence and dragged her back to his vehicle by her hair and drove away. The male can be heard in the video threatening to kill the victim.

    •    Male
    •    Short hair
    •    Wearing a hoodie
    •    Possibly armed with a handgun

Investigators are appealing to anyone who may know the suspect or the victim to contact police immediately with any information. Investigators are also appealing to any nearby businesses or residences that may have video surveillance, or any drivers who may have been in the area at the time with dashcam footage to please come forward.
