Investigators with the York Regional Police Hate Crime Unit and the #4 District Criminal Investigations Bureau are appealing for witnesses after hate-motivated graffiti was located in the City of Vaughan. On Saturday, April 27, 2019, at 8:30 a.m., York Regional Police responded to a residence on Stratheden Lane in the area of Dufferin Street and Major Mackenzie Drive for a report of hateful, anti-Semitic graffiti spray painted on the front of the garage on a home

Investigators have obtained video surveillance and determined that the incident took place at approximately 9:45 p.m., on Friday, April 26, 2019. The video surveillance shows two suspects walking towards the residence prior to the incident, then walking away a few minutes later.

  • Male
  • Wearing dark-coloured clothing

Suspect 2:

  • Male
  • Wearing dark-coloured clothing

Investigators are asking any witnesses, anyone with information or anyone with dashcam or video surveillance footage in that area to please come forward. York Regional Police does not tolerate hate crime in any form. Those who victimize individuals based on race, national or ethnic origin, language, colour, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or mental or physical disability will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
