Victim threatened with firearm during carjacking in Vaughan

Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are seeking two suspects following a carjacking in the City of Vaughan.

On Monday, April 25, 2022, at approximately 11 p.m., officers were called to a residence in the area of Kirby Road and Keele Street for a report of a carjacking.

The victim had parked his 2012 Audi A7 in his driveway when two male suspects got out of a white Mazda and confronted him. One of the suspects was armed with a firearm and demanded the keys to the vehicle.

The victim was not physically injured and the suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle and the white Mazda. The Mazda was later recovered a short distance away by police. It was also determined to have been stolen.

The suspects were described as male, dark skin, wearing dark clothing.

Investigators are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police to come forward. Officers would also like to speak with anyone who may have video surveillance or dashcam footage of the incident.
