Victim identified in Markham homicide investigation

Investigators with the York Regional Police Homicide Unit are releasing the identity of the deceased and continue to seek witnesses following the suspicious death of a man in the City of Markham.

On Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2020 shortly after 2 p.m., York Regional Police were called to a residence on Feeney Lane for a report of a man who was found inside of a residence deceased. When officers arrived, they located a man believed to be his 50s, inside the residence deceased.

The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Mehdi Amin Sadeghieh, 58, of the City of Markham.

Investigators are appealing to the community for any information on the whereabouts of the following vehicle:
    •    2015 Honda CRV
    •    Black
    •    Ontario plate: BNEV917

Investigators are asking anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area, who have not yet spoken to police, to please come forward. They are also appealing to anyone in the area with residential video surveillance that may have captured anything suspicious to please come forward.
