Vehicle sale goes wrong when seller injured, BMW stolen

Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are seeking assistance to identify two suspects and locating a stolen vehicle following a carjacking in the City of Vaughan.

On Friday, Oct. 4, 2019, shortly before 8 p.m., York Regional Police were called to a residence in the area of Major Mackenzie Drive West and McNaughton Road East for a report of a stolen vehicle. When officers arrived, they found the victim, a 32-year-old man, suffering from injuries. He was transported to hospital for treatment of his minor injury.

The investigation has revealed that the victim was attempting to sell his vehicle online and had arranged to meet with a potential buyer. Two unknown men arrived at the victim’s residence and were shown the vehicle. One of the unknown men pulled out a handgun, pointed it at the victim and struck him with it, then stole his keys. Both suspects fled the area with the stolen vehicle and the vehicle they had arrived in.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have information about the suspect or the stolen vehicle to please come forward.

  • Male, Black
  • 5’8”
  • 25 to 30 years
  • Slim build
  • Scruffy short beard
  • Wearing a black hoodie and black sweat pants

  • Male
