Vaughan man facing sexual assault charges in Markham

Investigators with the York Regional Police Special Victim’s Unit- Sexual Assault Section have charged a 57-year-old man from the City of Vaughan following a sexual assault investigation in the City of Markham.

In August 2018, York Regional Police began an investigation into a sexual assault that took place in Markham after a victim came forward with information. The victim reported that she had been the target of inappropriate sexual advances in the past causing her to avoid the suspect as much as possible. In Aug, 2017, the victim attended the workplace of the suspect for work-related reasons. During the visit, the suspect approached the victim when she was alone and sexually assaulted her.

On Oct.23, 2018, the accused was arrested and charged.

Investigators would like to speak to anyone who has any information.

Charge:

  • Sexual assault

The accused will be appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket on Nov.  21, 2018.
