Vaughan massage therapist accused of sexual assault

Investigators with the York Regional Police Special Victims Unit – Sexual Assault Section have charged a 62-year-old massage therapist in connection with two sexual assaults in the City of Vaughan.

On Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2020, police responded to a report of sexual assaults that had occurred in 2019 at a spa located in the area of Rutherford Road and Creditstone Road.

The victim reported that she had been sexually assaulted during two massage therapy sessions which had occurred in September and December 2019.

On Friday, Feb. 14, 2020, the accused was placed under arrest and has been charged.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket on March 18, 2020.

A sexual assault includes any non-consensual contact of a sexual nature. York Regional Police would like to encourage anyone who feels they may have been a victim of a sexual assault to come forward and report the incident to police.

There is no statute of limitations for sexual offences and offenders can be prosecuted well after the date of the offence.
