Vaughan man charged with attempted murder after 2 people stabbed

A 30-year-old Vaughan man faces attempted murder and assault charges after two women were stabbed Friday evening in Vaughan.

When York Regional Police officers responded to a weapons call on Kipling Avenue at about 7 p.m. Friday, May 14, they located a 35-year-old male victim and a 35-year-old female victim, both with stab wounds, according to a news release. The victims were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  

Paul Iozzo is charged with attempt murder, assault with a weapon and assault cause bodily harm, police said.

Police are thanking citizens who assisted by holding the suspect until police arrived.
