Vaughan man, 32, charged in 2 sexual assaults

Investigators with the York Regional Police Special Victims Unit – Sexual Assault Section, have laid sexual assault charges against a 32-year-old man. The investigation began in April 2018, after a victim came forward and reported a sexual assault. Later that month, the accused was charged with sexual assault and breach of probation.

On Jan. 31, 2019, a second victim came forward to report that she had been sexually assaulted. The investigation revealed that on July 12, 2018, the victim attended the accused’s residence, where she was sexually assaulted. On Thursday, March 14, 2019, the suspect was arrested at his residence in the City of Vaughan. Investigators are releasing photographs as they believe there may be additional victims or witnesses. Anyone with information in relation to the accused is asked to come forward to police.

Charges:

  • Sexual assault x2
  • Fail to comply with probation x2

The accused has been released on bail and will be appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket on April 9, 2019.
