UPDATE: Vaughan teen, 15, injured in collision now in stable condition

Sadly, another passenger in the Kia Sportage with five teenaged occupants that collided with a tree Tuesday night has died in hospital

The condition of one of the Vaughan teenagers seriously injured in a Jan. 1 collision has improved to stable, York Regional Police are reporting on Twitter.

Earlier today, police said a 16-year-old male passenger had died in hospital, following the late night single-vehicle collision Tuesday on King Vaughan Road near Kipling Avenue, where a Kia Sportage with five teenaged occupants left the road and collided with a tree.

The 15-year-old male who had been fighting for his life but is now in stable condition remains in hospital.

The driver, a 17-year-old female, and a 16-year-old male were taken to hospital with minor injuries following the crash. A 16-year-old female passenger was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
