Suspects sought in Saturday's Markham bank robbery

Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are seeking assistance to identify suspects following a bank robbery in the City of Markham.

On Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020, shortly before 4 p.m., police were called to a bank located in the area of Major Mackenzie Drive East and Woodbine Avenue for a report of a robbery. When officers arrived, they found employees in the bank who were not physically injured. Investigators have determined that a man armed with a handgun and a woman, both wearing masks, entered the bank and made a demand for cash. The employees complied and the suspects fled.

Suspect 1:

  • Male, Black
  • 6’,1”
  • 20 to 25 years
  • Armed with a handgun

Suspect 2: 

  • Female, Black
  • 5’3”
  • 20 to 25 years
