Suspect wanted in connection with sexual assault of Vaughan senior

Police have released a video of the suspect after a 91-year-old woman walking with a walker outdoors reported a man touched her in a sexual manner

York Regional Police are seeking a suspect wanted in connection with the sexual assault of a 91-year-old senior with a walker on a public pathway in Vaughan last month.

The woman was walking on a path in the area of Steeles Avenue and Whitney Place on Friday, May 13 at approximately 4 p.m. when a man touched her in a sexual manner, according to investigators with the special victims unit – sexual assault section. 

The victim screamed and the suspect fled on foot.  

The man is described as Black, 5 feet 6 inches, thin build and was wearing a black face mask and black clothing.

A sexual assault includes any non-consensual contact of a sexual nature. York Regional Police encourage anyone who feels they may have been a victim of a sexual assault to come forward and report the incident to police. There is no statute of limitations for sexual offences and offenders can be prosecuted well after the date of the offence.
